Course Equivalency Pre-Approval Request Process

There is an online process for requesting pre-approval of courses you are planning to take while studying abroad. Pre-approvals guarantee the courses taken abroad will transfer back as equivalent MSU credit. After completing the IBP/Education Abroad application process and receiving confirmation of host country placement, follow these steps:

1. Log in to My Missouri State
2. Click on the Options (three horizontal lines) menu in the top left corner and click on 'Student'. Alternate option, search for Transfer Resources.
3. Go to the 'Transfer Resources' box (located near bottom of page)
4. Click 'Request Transfer Credit Pre-approval'
5. Select 'a college or university in another country'
6. Select the name of your host country from drop-down menu
7. Select the name of your host university from drop-down menu
8. Complete all required fields and click Submit

Note: Hyperlinks to your online course syllabi are highly recommended in the comment section of the preapproval form. However, the links are not active there, so please be sure you test them before they are inserted. The reviewer will copy and paste them into a browser, but if they do not work, your request may not be approved.

A request will be sent to corresponding department heads. Upon their review, you will receive feedback as to how the specific courses may transfer.
