Meet The Team

Director, International Business Programs
Mary Pamperien Tomerlin
Mary has been the Director of International Business Programs since August 2023. In this role, she advises College of Business students who are interested in studying abroad, whether it's a short-term, summer, semester, or academic year program. She assists COB faculty in developing short-term faculty directed programs. She also supports the LNNU-MSU College of International Business program in Dalian, China.

Mary is a Missouri State University alumnus, earning her B.S. in Geography, with an emphasis in Geotourism and her MBA here. She is married, and is a mom to one energetic toddler and two geriatric pups. She enjoys reading, spending time outside, spending time with family, and traveling. She studied abroad in Lima, Peru during the fall semester of her sophomore year. She has also traveled to France, Italy, Mexico, Ireland, Canada, China, and Denmark. As well as several places within the United States.

Mary's favorite part about working in the International Business Programs office is meeting students where they are. Everyone has their own story, dreams, and goals, and she enjoys getting to know each student and helping them figure out what program is the best fit for them.

No matter how long your stay, if you make an honest effort to learn about and truly experience the culture that you are visiting, your travels will have a lasting impact on you. This is one of the surest ways to change the world for the better.

IBP Graduate Assistant
Hanna Nguyen
Hanna has worked in the IBP office since Summer 2025 as a graduate assistant. She is currently pursuing her MBA. Before coming to MSU, Hanna earned a Bachelor's in International Business from Vietnam National University, followed by a Master's in International Trade Law and Policy, part of which she completed in Bern, the federal city and de facto capital of Switzerland. Fun fact: the bear is also the sybmol of Bern!

Hanna has visited countries across Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America. She hopes to explore South America, Africa, and even Antarctica to visit all seven continents. Some of her most memorable travel moments include:
Savoring a freshly baked croissant and cafe creme on a crisp winter morning at Montmartre's Hill of Love in Paris.
Wandering through the playful fall breeze as locals played chess beneath swirling leaves in Bern's Rosengarten.
Dancing through a vibrant summer night filled with amazing music at a club in Melbourne, Australia.

Studying abroad opened Hanna's eyes to a richer, more colorful world and helped her grow into a confident global citizen. It deepened her ability to connect across cultures, appreciate differences, and face new challenges with resilience. Hanna genuinely enjoys working in the IBP office, where she has the opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, and students in the College of Business.

IBP Student Worker
Alyson Harter
Alyson is currently a senior, pursuing a B.S. in Entertainment Management as well as the Accelerated MBA. Alyson also holds an Associate's degree in Business from Ozarks Technical Community College. She transferred to MSU in Fall 2024.

Alyson is from Billings, MO and graduated from high school there in 2022. She enjoys spending time with family and friends (including her dogs), watching romcoms, traveling, and scrapbooking/crafting. She is a member of two student organizations on campus: Entertainment Management Association (EMA) and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Alyson participated in a short-term education abroad program to Paris and London in Spring 2025. She believes that traveling is a great way to learn more about yourself and others - and it is even better when you can earn college credit and/or relevant experience as well.

Alyson is new to this job, but she applied for it because of how much fun and experience she gained from being part of one of IBP's education abroad programs. She can't wait to be part of other students' journeys and be an advocate for studying abroad!
